An original typology for a sofa contained in only fourteen centimeters of depth, that renews the traditional concept of sitting, and multiplies performance. The sleek shape of the upholstered base offers nine parts that can each recline at six different angles.
This particular example has been freshly upholstered in the gorgeous ‘Chelsea’ from Sustainable Living Fabrics in the ‘Rye Grass’ colourway. A heavy commercial upholstery produced from 100% Australian Eco Wool that beautifully works with this piece due to its natural stretch and woven texture. The piece still retains the original branding and ‘EDRA’ zipper sliders and tags.
The chrome frame presents in immaculate condition and the piece features new legs imported from Italy from EDRA.

Francesca Binafaré
Francesco Binfaré was director of the Cassina Research Centre from 1969 to 1976, during which period certain classics of contemporary design were born. In 1980 he founded his own Design and Communication Centre for research and the promotion of projects, some of which came into being for Cassina including Wink by Toshiyuki Kita (1980) and Feltri (1987) by Gaetano Pesce. He promotes initiatives for publishing experiments in furniture for the avant-garde and for the use of interactive media in architectural projects. He has taught at the Domus Academy in Milan and at the Royal College of Art in London, and has produced drawings, paintings, installations and many pieces of furniture that include Flap sofa for Edra.
